Meet Alexis Ammons, DNP
Nurse Practitioner & Founder, NOVA Wellness & Prevention
After more than a decade in hospital medicine, I saw too many preventable heart attacks, too many strokes that didn't have to happen, too many patients told their symptoms were "normal aging." I founded NOVA Wellness to change that.
This practice exists because I believe medicine should PREVENT disease, not just treat it after the damage is done. I believe you deserve more than 15-minute appointments. And I believe that with the right care, you can feel better now AND live longer.
Why I Started NOVA
For more than ten years, I worked in some of the most demanding areas of medicine: cardiology, neurosurgery, intensive care, urgent care, and primary care. I saw hundreds of patients every month.
And I saw a pattern that broke my heart.
Patients having heart attacks who had been told they were "healthy" at their annual checkups. Strokes in women whose symptoms had been dismissed as anxiety. People suffering from symptoms that their doctors said were just "normal aging." The healthcare system was failing them.
I knew there had to be a better approach. That's when I found WorldLink Medical and the BaleDoneen Method.
WorldLink taught me evidence-based hormone optimization — not the outdated, one-size-fits-all approach most providers use, but personalized protocols based on peer-reviewed research.
The BaleDoneen Method showed me that cardiovascular disease doesn't have to be a death sentence. With advanced imaging and testing, we can find disease 10-15 years before symptoms appear. We can treat root causes. We can actually PREVENT heart attacks and strokes.
NOVA Wellness & Prevention exists because I refuse to practice medicine the old way. Here, you're not a number. You're not rushed. You're not dismissed.
Every consultation starts with actually listening — for as long as it takes, not 15 minutes. We dig into your history, your symptoms, your goals. We run tests that most doctors don't know exist. And we build a plan that's designed for YOUR body. My mission isn't just to help you feel better. It's to help you live longer.

My Approach to Care
I Take the Time
Your first consultation takes as long as needed. Not because we're inefficient — because that's how long it takes to actually understand your health.
I Find the Cause
I don't mask symptoms. I investigate WHY you feel the way you do. Low testosterone? Let's find out why. Fatigue? There's always a reason.
I Prevent, Not Just Treat
My goal isn't to manage your disease — it's to prevent it from developing in the first place. This is medicine as it should be.
We're Partners
You're not a passive recipient of care. You're my partner in your health journey. I explain the WHY behind every recommendation.
Outside the Office
When I'm not seeing patients, I'm spending time with my husband Paul and our three children — Dakota, Sara, and Lucy. Our pets Rosie, Bernie, and Binx keep things interesting at home.
I love traveling with my family, staying current with medical research (yes, I read studies for fun), and continually learning to better serve my patients. This work isn't just what I do — it's who I am. Helping people feel their best is what I was meant to do.
"Alexis's mission is deeply personal. Having experienced the life-changing benefits of hormone optimization and preventive care herself, she is passionate about helping others achieve the same outcomes — living longer, stronger, and feeling their best every day."

Why Patients Choose NOVA
Real Training, Not Weekends
My hormone training comes from WorldLink Medical — the most comprehensive BHRT certification available. My cardiovascular training comes from the BaleDoneen Preceptorship. This isn't weekend-seminar medicine.
I Practice What I Preach
I've personally experienced the benefits of hormone optimization and preventive care. I'm not asking you to do anything I wouldn't do myself. This approach changed my life, and I've seen it change my patients' lives.
I Never Stop Learning
Medicine evolves. I stay current with the latest research, attend conferences, and continuously refine my protocols. Your care is based on the most current evidence, not outdated guidelines.
